Dear Friends of the MFRF,

We are excited to share with you the success of the Mathew Forbes Romer Foundation’s Annual "Sweetness and Laughter" Celebration held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, sweetened by the Neil Diamond Musical...A Beautiful Noise. The event was sold out and the funds raised far exceeded our goals to support our mission.

Following a delectable dinner and dessert, the program highlighted how the next generation of MFRF leaders and projects are emerging, including the newly introduced Brain Health Hustle Walk/Run, to augment our mission of Genetic Screening, Nursing Education, and Research and Treatments. The future and past intersected with a touching tribute to one of our founding board members, Carole Romer, that included a sing-a-long to a special version of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline".

Lastly, we were thrilled to recognize our “See The Light” honoree, Dr. Matthew Goldstein, Chief Executive Officer of jscreen Genetic Screening, for his co-leadership of the recently announced multi-year partnership between jscreen and MFRF. Matthew's work and passion is inspired by the loss of his first child, Havi, to Tay-Sachs, that was captured in the award winning book titled "Fifty-seven Fridays," written by his wife, Myra. Matthew's insights and vision for the future of Genetic Screening were shared in an engaging Fire-side chat with MFRF President Kevin Romer.
